Instructor: | Dawn Jolin |
Instructor Bio: | My passion for quilts, quilting and all things quilt-related started 34 years ago in 1989. My quilt pieces have ranged in sizes from small blocks to king sized quilts. My beginner class was in a quilt shop in Dayton, VA from a group of Mennonite women. I began with an 8 week piecing class followed by a 6 week handquilting class. I started out hand cutting, machine piecing and handquilting every piece. I've taken numerous classes from various teachers to continue to learn. Along with making quilts for family members and friends as gifts, I have also done commission work. For 20+ years I also did handquilting for clients. I work very closely with clients to know exactly what their expectations are for each piece. I taught several classes at Quilters Corner in Midlothian, VA. I was also part of the great team of staff there. I have demo'd and taught small groups as well. A few pieces of my handquilting work has been published in books by Mary W. Kerr, author, quiltmaker and quilt appraiser located in Northern Virgina. I currently live in Red Oak, VA, We have a 1 year old Westie named Eddie. |
