What is the difference between paper piecing and English paper piecing?
Briefly: English Paper Piecing is a pure hand-sewing method used in traditional patchwork and quilting. ... Foundation Paper Piecing on the other hand is generally done by sewing machine. The pattern, usually a whole block, is drafted directly on a sheet of foundation paper (or piece of muslin fabric).

Requirements: | The supply list is very short 3 scraps of contrasting color fabric (best to begin with non-batik)(Supplied with class) Matching POLYESTER thread Glue pen (not stick). Looks like a large writing pen that holds a small stick of blue or ping water based glue. Size 11 milliners needles Rose Patch will have glue pens and milliners needles, if you do have have them. |

Instructor Bio: | Anne is originally from Oregon and moved to Virginia about 25 years ago. A retired informatics nurse she enjoys traveling, golf and many textile hobbies including tatting, quilting, and sewing. When she and her husband retired, they decided to take long RV trips (like 6 months at a time), she found English paper piecing was a quilting technique that could easily be done while on the road in a very small RV. She also enjoys spending time with her two children, their spouses/significant other and especially her granddaughter ? who is learning to sew! |
